These reusable, breathable, cloth panty liners are the ultimate in comfort. Not only are they more comfy than their paper counterparts... they're just plain FUN!
They are made with your choice of fabric on top. The core consists of a contoured layer of zorb and they're backed in a layer of hemp fleece. There are two snap settings on the wings to fit a wide range of unmentionables; from bikinis to boyshorts and beyond...
There is no water resistant back on these so they are very breathable and are great for everyday use, menstrual cup backup, days you are ovulating or light days in the beginning and/or end of your cycle when you don't need the extra protection.
A note on Silk...
Silk noil is a thin nubby fabric which acts as a stay-dry layer pulling moisture away from the skin into the absorbent core. When left natural (un-dyed) the fabric can have specks of color in it and will soften over time. These can be washed with the rest of your laundry like all other pads.
Silk Noil is said to be antibacterial and have natural healing properties due to the sericin which is a wax left by the silkworm. Silk Noil is often used as a diaper liner to help prevent diaper rashes, panty liners to prevent yeast infections or nursing pads to help dry, cracked nipples and to help prevent breast infections. According to my research, when using Silk Noil for its healing properties it should be left in the natural form as chemicals from dyes can strip away the sericin. However, I'm sure repeated washings on hot water and a good spin in the hot dryer would have the same stripping affect of the sericin... so I say take the "antibacterial attributes" with a grain of salt. From my research it's all been hearsay. I will however testify to silks stay-dry attributes which may be why some have found it to be "healing". It may just be that it keeps you dryer thus keeping those nasty bacteria away - food for thought!
So, due to many requests from my customers over the years, I do dye silk on occasion. You can request it either undyed or dyed depending on your needs.
The above information was found on various websites regarding Silk Noil. I am not claiming any of the information as fact only passing along what I've read. I can however attest to the comfort of silk and the fact that it is a thin, stay-dry layer and is definitely a favorite among customers both dyed and undyed.
